What to Know About the Eagle Scout Rank
Known most commonly as the highest award able to be earned in scouting. This is true, but it is also much more than that.
Below are frequently asked questions about the Eagle Scout Rank.
-
That is true. Only 6% of Scouts earn Eagle. This is not the end goal for all Scouts, which, though our troop motto is Eagle Bound, does not mean you have to earn it. There is so much more to Scouting than advancement, and Troop 32G supports all Scouts, no matter their end goal. You can enjoy scouting for all else that you gain from participating in it, regardless if you earn Eagle or not. We encourage all Scouts to strive for Eagle but also encourage them to gain leadership, push themselves, and learn new things. Earning Eagle is not the be-all and end-all.

Scouting teaches Scouts to be effective leaders in all situations, helping them overcome obstacles.

By earning the Eagle rank, Scouts learn about the leadership of others. Often the scariest part of earning Eagle is the project, which when you work with others, isn't as scary. The project teaches Scouts how to lead large groups of people in a common goal, a big part of Scouting.
